The NFL has had many many great players in it’s history. Some good, some bad, and some great.I have decided to make a fantasy team of retired NFL players A team I think would never lose a game. But, unlike the Patriots, actually win the big game.Quarterback-Warren Moon, Dan MarinoMoon was a great versatile and accurate QB.Warren Moon was not only a Hall of Famer but the first African American QB to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. His great career statistics of 49,000+ yards and 291 TD’s definitely show why he is a Hall of Famer. If he was still in his prime, he would definitely make a great starter for almost any team in the NFL today.Dan Marino had an extremely strong arm and ALWAYS knew how to avoid a sack He had no running game to help him out.
It was all him, 420 TDs, 61,361 yards and an 86.4 passer rating throughout his whole career Easily the best QB in Dolphins histroy. One thing most people are suprised to hear about Marino, is that in his 17 years in the NFL he did not win ONE Super Bowl. He will go down as the best player to never win a Super Bowl.Halfback-Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Jim BrownOne of the quickest HBs ever in the NFL, Sanders had great acceleration and great speed. Sanders could be considered one of the best, if not the best HB ever.A Hall of Fame HB rushing for 15,269 yds and 99 TDs proves to be some of the greatest rushing stats anyone will ever see. Sanders accomplished this in only 10 seasons. If you don’t believe he is one of the greatest just watch this, trust me you will change your mind. http:// Allen is the greatest HB in Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders history, hands down, and nobody will ever take that spot. From his days at USC to his 76 yard run in Super Bowl XVIII, there are many moments that Marcus Allen gave to America that will never be forgotten.Marcus Allen ran for an outstanding 12,243 yards Along with 123 TDs. His 190 yards and 2 TDs lead the Raiders to a 38-9 victory over the Redskins in Allens only Super Bowl. http:// Brown was a Superman of his time.
One of the only black players in his time and he owned everybody. From getting the chance to start at Syracuse to getting drafted by the Browns, he will go down as one of the best icons in sports history. He ran for 12,312 yards along with 106 TDs He also had 20 receiving TDs. His 9 years will go down as the best 9 years in NFL history.Tight End-Kellen WinslowKellen Winslow, another Hall of Famer, and by far, in my opinion, the best TE of all time.Overcoming what most people believed to be a career ending injury, he has proven to be one of the toughest players of all time. His 6,741 yds and 45 TDs are some of the best stats a TE has ever had in NFL history.Wide Receiver-Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, Cris Carter, Kevin HouseFrom coming out of a very small college as an unknown, Rice went on to becoming a household name. With 22,895 yards and his record-setting 197 TDs he has earned a Hall of Fame pass.Michael Irvin, yet again ANOTHER Hall of Famer. One of the only reasons I do not think he is the number one WR, is because he did not play nearly as long as Rice 11,904 yards and 65 TDs is not bad. Irvin is not one of the best but rather the best WR the Cowboys have ever had.Cris Carter is arguably the best player to not be elected into the HOF. His 13,900 yards and 130 TDs should be enough to get him in next year.
I was not fortunate enough to watch him play, but I wish I would have I see tape on this guy and I am in aw It is really incredible how someone can be that good. If I had a say in who gets into the HOF next year I would definitely vote for Cris, hands down.Kevin House, who is not a Hall of Fame WR, but definitely a good one He was arguably the best WR the Bucs have ever had. The only thing holding him back from the Hall of Fame is the fact he never played on a successful team, and his short career. 5,169 yds and 34 TDs is still pretty good considering he only played for eight years.Defensive back-Darrell Green, Deion Sanders, Rod WoodsonDarrell Green, the fastest NFL player of all time and seven-time pro-bowler Green is probably the best DB ever to play. His outstanding 54 INTs and 1159 tackles are some of the best DB stats I have ever seen.Deion Sanders, by far the best safety of all time. Sanders is a for sure Hall of Famer ranking statistically among the best safeties to ever play He was also one of the most feared kick returners ever. His 513 tackles and 53 INTs rank only behind Darrell Green.Rod Woodson is in my mind and many others minds is the greatest DB in history (along with Darrell Green and Deion Sanders.) His HOF statistics are some of the best in history.
